It is difficult to resist Brittany’s charm and to not be captivated by this land of history and legend.

Cap Fréhel- Cap Fréhel, a peninsula in the Côtes-d'Armor has two lighthouses, one from the 17th century and the other one from 1950,  located at the tip of it and is a popular tourist attraction. In summer the area is awash with gorse and heather, displaying vibrant colours of red ,gold and purple .The imposing cliffs are an important bird santuary for endangered species of seabird.Wikipedia

Cliff on
"la Côte Sauvage"  , Quiberon.Until the 11th century, Quiberon was an island. The progressive natural clearing of the pine forest liberated very large quantities of sand that were carried by the wind to the bay side. This sand made up the actual isthmus, called Tombolo.  "©Fred Goldstein | Dreamstime.com"

Brest-
Cannon-balls and a cannon in the city of Brest in Brittany. At the background there is the lifting-bridge 'Pont de Recouvrance', one of the largest in Europe.

The Fort National built by Vauban in 1689, this stronghold assured the protection of the city for many years and offers excellent views of the ramparts. St-Malo is a port city built with grey granite stone; modern St-Malo traces its origins to a monastic settlement founded by saints in the sixth century.

Mont St Michel-The tides in the area change quickly, and have been described by Victor Hugo as "à la vitesse d'un cheval au galop" or "as swiftly as a galloping horse". The mount can still be treacherous for visitors who avoid the causeway and attempt the hazardous walk across the sands from the neighbouring coast.

Ile de Batz is an island off Roscoff.Only separated from Roscoff by a 2km long channel, it takes no more than 10 minutes to get there. The island which enjoys a micro-climate, is a mixture of rugged cliffs, meadows, ploughed fields and sand dunes,  all surrounded by a clear  blue sea. There is also a lighthouse to visit.

Most stories about  Arthur as king include the Sword in the Stone episode and his defence of Britain against the Saxons. His home was  Camelot where Arthur receives the advice of the wizard Merlin, and we find the Round Table. You cannot forget the sword Excalibur and his famous battle in which he dies in a final confrontation with Mordred. Other  accounts of his life include the adultery of Lancelot and Queen Guinevere and Arthur's quest for the Holy Grail. Finally most  texts  recall the adventures of Arthur's knights, among them  Lancelot, Percival and Galahad.Pictures Wikipedia.

Deserted beach in Brittany . Brittany has a coastline of more than 1,000 km , which is why  fishing and tourism  is so evident in this region.  The Pointe du Raz, a long natural rocky outcrop , is the westernmost point of mainland France.
